In this lecture, we will explore the core issue of the 21st century: the dialogue between Chinese and Western civilizations. There are many commonalities between Chinese Confucianism and European Enlightenment philosophy. We will attempt to identify feasible points of dialogue between the two, compare their contributions to the modern world, and discuss how to achieve the exchange, integration, and mutual complementarity of these two civilizations after the dialogue.
The 'China-Europe Academy' is a cultural exchange forum that brings together experts and scholars from China and Europe with expertise in a variety of fields. It upholds the values of pluralism and openness, while embodying the academic spirit of the Ancient Chinese Academy of Classical Learning. By focusing on the mutual appreciation of China and Europe, the exchange of culture between China and Europe will be realised in a variety of ways and in multiple languages, including Chinese, English, French and etc. It will be conducted through multiple channels, both online and offline.
